Warcraft Relapse

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Well it finally happened - I’m back on WoW. After 6 months, all my sound reasoning, elaborate strategems and sorry excuses are for naught.
Went to a friend’s place on Saturday night, they had a spare computer with WoW running. It was a bit of a girly night so I foolishly said to my mate - [...]

Post E3 Rant : Sony Keep Digging

Friday, May 19th, 2006

Sony Computer Entertainment MD Ray Macguire on GamesIndustry.biz.
“£425 is definitely not a mass market price, no,” Maguire admitted.
“But you think about the price, think about the price of just a Blu-Ray player. It will be cheaper than a Blu-Ray player just by itself. So fundamentally we’re going to be great value just from that point [...]

Post E3 Rant

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Disclaimer: This is entirely my own opinion and in no way reflects the views of my employer or anyone else who gives me money.

Book Review: Expert C Programming, By Peter Van Der Linden

Monday, January 2nd, 2006

In an effort to add cheap content, I’m recycling old stuff. Huzzah!
Anyway, here’s my short Amazon review of “Expert C Programming” By Peter Van Der Linden. I’m particularly proud of my analogy between Spanish art history and computer programming.
It is still a useful book. How? One example: every C/C++ programming test (for the purposes of [...]

Live the Revolution

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

There’s a really good opinion piece on gamesindustry.biz about the Nintendo’s next generation console, the Revolution.
This is a quality site that I read everyday. There are no “fanboi” articles, just good analysis and interviews. A downside is that the content is a little too UK/Europe centric.
